CHBA BC GEORGIE AWARDS WINNERS
The Canadian Home Builders' Association of BC (CHBA BC) announced the winners of the 2008 Georgie Awards® at the Westin Bayshore, Vancouver. 600 guests enjoyed an evening of celebration and recognition of excellence in home building for the 17th consecutive year.
On hand to present the awards were the Honourable Gordon Campbell, Premier of British Columbia, the Honourable Rich Coleman, Minister of Housing and Social Development, the Honourable Murray Coell, Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, the Honourable Ida Chong, Minister of Small Business, Technology and Economic Development and Minister Responsible for the Asia-Pacific Initiative, the Honourable Rick Thorpe, MLA for Okanagan Westside, along with partners in the home building industry.
"The Georgie Awards® recognize the best and most innovative projects in our province. We believe that CHBA BC’s 1700 member companies represent the very best of builders, renovators, designers, architects, suppliers and trades,” said Tim Kasten, President of CHBA BC. "Our industry is the engine that drives BC’s economy. In 2008 the residential construction industry contributed an estimated $3 billion in Gross Domestic Product. CHBA BC congratulates all entrants, finalists and of course, winners who exemplify the high caliber of expertise and hard work that is associated with CHBA BC member companies.”
