- Homeowner Protection Office: Listing of education & training resources including Build Smart for residential construction in BC.
- Earthwise Society: Food Gardens for a Small Planet workshop (in partnership with Kwantlen ISH). Audience: landscape professionals and building trade professionals (may be of interest to consumers). Format: eight two-hour sessions. Fees: $240 for eight workshops. Beginning with an overview of food security issues, the workshop series will suggest strategies for dealing with pro-actively with the problem and the role for building trades in creating infrastructure to support home food production. The course will explore the meaning of sustainable food production, organic growing fundamentals, climate specific considerations, design solutions and the role of green technologies for water and energy in landscape design. The emphasis will be on exploring the possibilities for limited space food gardens in association with green building design. - Lighthouse Sustainable Building Centre: Sustainable Building Advisor Program The Sustainable Building Advisor Program is designed for working professionals who want intensive and wide ranging instruction on green building practices. Students attend one two-day (Friday Saturday) session per month for 9 months. Local experts in their field teach the latest in sustainable design, construction and operation techniques with an emphasis on both practical applications and underlying theories.
