650 first-time home buyers attend free annual seminar
The Greater Vancouver Home Builders' Association (GVHBA) presented its 16th annual First-time Home Buyer Seminar to more than 650 eager first-time purchasers on Tuesday, March 23 at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel in Surrey.
A panel of housing experts at the seminar guided attendees through the many factors involved in buying a new home. The speakers were Robyn Adamache, senior market analyst, Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation; Bob Maling, chief operating officer, Homeowner Protection Office; Narrinder Dhanoya-Bhangu, vice president, pacific region, Genworth Financial Canada; Harsha Galgewela, manager, mobile mortgage specialist division, TD Canada Trust; Dave Watt, past president, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver; Howard Friedman, national vice president of residential real estate products, Travelers Guarantee; and Adnan Habib, lawyer, Baker Newby LLP. Wendy Acheson, Vice-President and Registrar, Homeowner Protection Branch for BC Housing, was the seminar moderator.
