What's New in Homebuilding
What's New in Homebuilding is a popular full-day seminar presented by GVHBA three to four times per year. This seminar was developed by the GVHBA Technical Committee for people who are planning to have a custom home built for them. Up to 50 attendees are treated to presentations from a number of different industry experts. You can collect product literature, hear detailed presentations and ask your own questions on topics such as:
- Principles of durable building envelope construction
- The best roofing systems for use on the "wet coast"
- Indoor air quality
- Ventilation systems
- Energy-efficient, cost-effective construction practices
- How energy choices affect costs
- R-2000 and BuiltGreen considerations
This in-depth seminar will help make you more aware of new technologies in home construction. Pre-registration is required for this seminar.
GVHBA Parade of New Homes
The Parade of New Homes is a free bi-annual event showcasing the latest in new home construction, techniques and design as built by GVHBA-member builders. The public is invited to tour professionally built showhomes and presentation centres throughout Metro Vancouver.
BC Home and Garden Show
Every February, the five-day BC Home and Garden Show is held at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. It provides consumers with opportunities to view new products for your home and garden. The main feature at this show is GVHBA's Home in the Dome, which showcases the latest in construction, design, technologies, products and services. For more information click here.
Vancouver Home & Interior Design Show
Every October, the four-day Vancouver Home and Interior Design Show provides consumers with the opportunity to view new products and services for home renovations and interior design. It is held at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. For more information click here.
