This is a rare opportunity to join an award winning, family owned, tight knit group as the Controller with future potential to take on a VP Finance role. Succeeding a retiring Controller, the position will assist in taking the company to the “next level”.
Reporting directly to the Principal and forming part of a small management team, the role will still be quite hands on, supervising and managing the accounting staff and daily accounting functions including the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, government remittances, HR and IT and to develop systems and procedures to better monitor and analyze company performance. Additional duties will include helping in the preparation of the annual operating budget, assisting in managing cash functions and projections, assisting with ongoing project-by-project financing and cash flow projections.
The successful candidate should have a professional accounting degree, preferably a CA designation with a minimum 5 years experience in a similar position within the construction industry.
As this is a key role within the management team, profit participation may be considered as part of the compensation package and it is envisioned that other financial responsibilities will be incorporated into the role.
