Education & Training Committee

The Education Committee serves both the general public and GVHBA members. It develops and delivers a wide range of member certification courses, building industry workshops, and consumer information seminars.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee serves the needs of all GVHBA members. It develops strategies to retain members, to help members utilize the many benefits of GVHBA, and to work with staff to recruit new members.

Technical Committee

The Technical Committee provides a forum for discussion of technical problems, new products and evolving building technology. It serves both GVHBA members and the general public by addressing their technical information requests and the delivery of technical industry workshops and consumer seminars.

Renovation Council

The Renovation Council provides a forum for renovator members of GVHBA to address issues, exchange ideas, share resources, and generate more business. Through Council meetings, Home Shows, Parades of Renovated Homes, community service projects, and consumer seminars it increases their visibility in the marketplace and help inform the public about professional renovators.

Held every September, the GVHBA Fall Classic Golf Tournament is one of western Canada’s largest tournaments (it’s a double shotgun) with 288 golfers playing across two courses, featuring sponsored hole activities throughout the day. The evening banquet showcases an impressive silent and live auction to generate funds in support of the GVHBA’s Centra Cares BCIT Scholarships. The committee works to actively secure sponsorships, drive sales and engagement, along with sourcing prizes and donations for the auctions. A premier GVHBA networking event, the Golf committee works hard, and has a ton of fun!

Suppliers Council

The Suppliers' Council is a diverse group of industry experts committed to advocating the principles of the GVHBA and the pursuit of professional excellence. We provide an environment that fosters strategic relationship building, valuable information exchange, and continuous innovation to strengthen and support the building industry.

Under-40 Committee

The Under-40 (U40) Committee represents the U40 members in the residential construction industry, advocating their involvement in the GVHBA to ensure the continued success and growth of the association.  Committee initiatives include social networking events and the Mentorship Program. INFORM, INVOLVE, ENGAGE.

GVHBA Development Committee

Assist GVHBA members with advocacy on issues where government impedes the housing market and industry. Priority issues: The impact of government policy/regulations on housing affordability, including community amenity contributions, green building and sustainability checklists, parkland dedications, and more. Meets monthly.

Marketing and communications committee

The purpose of the MCC is to provide marketing and communication recommendations to association staff, subject to the priorities determined by the GVHBA Strategic Plan. The MCC develops strategies, discusses tactics, and provides feedback on marketing initiatives to ensure a singular tone for the GVHBA, as the voice of the residential construction industry. This committee meets the first Thursday of every month.
